If you have a broken copilot pedal, you have here: 1) The "positive" mold to cast it in aluminum making a gypsum mold with it 2) The plastic part which is a part of the pedal, which breaks also by breaking the pedal. Using PLA printers, you need to know that before making the mold of gypsum, you need to consider the roughness of the "positive" mold. You have to be able to pull the positive part out of the mold. That means, you need to soften the surface of the positive mold first. For that you can use Alginic acid: cheap and easy to buy. After casting: you only need to use regular mechanical tools to get the final shape and quality.
