This is a project that I had on my protoboard and which I have finally designed a container to hold the LED ring and the Arduino board. In order for it to be self-sufficient, I have added a 3.7 V rechargeable battery through a Mini USB port. This allows me to use the same charger as my mobile phone. The Arduino that I used is the Arduino Mini Pro, which takes up very little space and can fit in the base box along with the voltage regulator, the battery, and the mini USB connector.
