Copa America Trophy - Solid Model
thingiverse
A sleek model of the America Cup Trophy is presented. Print Settings are crucial. Rafts: No Support Supports: None Necessary Infill: Optimized at 10% Notes: To overcome printing issues, a three-piece split version of the trophy was created to facilitate removal of supports. An alternative print layout has been sliced vertically for testing side-printing options. Design Enhancements: I optimized infill percentages since 10% provides a stable inner structure that can hold together after one-piecing curves in a single operation. This Trophy Design Was Conceptualized From Scratch From the beginning, I sketched the America Cup Trophy profile using Acad2007. For precision and control, polylines were predominantly used in conjunction with splines. Once each line was fully connected via nodes, the resulting profile was copied from Acad2007 to Inventor as a part where sketches are drawn. A part of this was accomplished through the simple combination of Ctrl+C on Acad2007 followed by Ctrl+V within the selected sketch, keeping existing curves intact in the new sketch. Using inventor's native tools I completed my creation and simply revolved that original shape; it was complete!
