Cooling Unit for Filastruder Fume Extraction Enclosure

In an attempt to increase cooling to help control the diameter of the extruded filament better, I remixed the main chamber of the Fume Extraction Enclosure to have two of the fan mounts that bring the fan closer to the center of the chamber.

To make the system easier to remove from the Filastruder for maintenance, I reversed the thread on the top and included a reversed thread version of the mating duct holder. This allows the user to rotate the short duct between the cooling unit and the hanger part, unscrewing them both at the same time. Of course, rotating the other way to re-assemble. For those who don't feel the need for this feature, the cooling unit with standard thread on top is also provided.

While I was at it, I added a sacrificial membrane layer so that the top doesn't have so many dangly bits if you print without support.

You'll need parts from the Fume Extraction Enclosure that this is remixed from to complete the system.

Print Settings

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

Doesn't Matter

Category: 3D Printer Accessories
