Cooling duct for Easy3DMaker
myminifactory
This is a replacement part designed specifically for the Easy3DMaker printer. The original nozzle cover proves ineffective due to its distance from the fan and limited airflow direction, requiring manual rotation of the printable part to optimize air flow overhanging areas. The proposed replacement guides air directly around the nozzle by splitting airflow into two separate ducts facing each other, increasing coverage area. It is engineered to seamlessly replace the original metal cover, allowing users to retain their existing screws for a secure mount. Note that no space is allocated for a nut on the fan screw; instead, the fan fits snugly in place with the screw holding it tight without any additional fastening. Caution: This design brings the nozzle extremely close together, making it crucial to print out of heat-resistant materials such as PLA or ABS. While PLA prints successfully, ABS printing poses risks due to melting of the duct; users are strongly advised to choose heat-resistant materials for optimal results. The original design went through extensive iterations in Blender, with around 10 modifications before achieving a satisfactory outcome. Although not an expert in airflow dynamics, trial and error led to this effective solution. The straight wall concept may not be ideal, as air flows towards it then collides, exiting at the bottom; a sloped approach might improve air flow efficiency. For optimal results, we recommend using brim for printing, which can accommodate lower layer thickness settings such as 0.25mm without compromising print quality.
