Cooler for Wanhao Duplicator i3 stock fan
thingiverse
I edited 09.12.2016: Added a new version with changes to fit Monoprice Select V2 printer perfectly. I made versions for 30mm and 40mm fans, both included. Let me know in comments if it doesn't fit just right. Blocks around the opening are meant to be broken off after printing's finished. This cooler duct was created as a last resort to improve cooling with the stock 30mm fan since other fans were nowhere to be found. The 15-45 degree overhang test showed significant improvement over the stock duct. It features a large volume and large openings to prevent fan stalling at all costs. It can be installed with original screws, no nuts needed, but slightly longer mounting screws are recommended for added peace of mind. I printed mine from ABS with 0.2mm layers and external supports where the part hangs over the bed, as shown in one of the included pictures. A tight fit around the hot end is required, but ABS works just fine. This duct was strongly inspired by Pawpawpaw85's DiiiCooler: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1025471 October 2015 Update: A new version has been uploaded with thinner vanes, slightly smaller exit area and a continuation of the duct to block off the first vane to prevent air hogging. Hopefully this will distribute air more evenly. Thanks go out to Pawpawpaw85 for providing valuable tips on how to improve it. TAHfan06 includes duct without supports. TAHfan06 - supports features duct with supports. Supports around exit hole break off easily, but the ones under the inlet are a bit tougher. However, their finish will never be top-notch anyway.
