Cooler Extension for Duplicator i3 Plus

This is a simple, snap-on extension for the Duplicator i3 Plus (Maker Select Plus) stock cooler that provides better cooling and air distribution. Unlike most cooling attachments, this component extends the existing stock cooling frame, rather than replacing it completely. It prints quickly and easily, and installation is also quick and easy. This may or may not be compatible with the Duplicator i3 v2.x; I'm unsure because I don't own one. Please share your experience in the comments. 2017/01/22 Update: A new file called mcooler_higher has been added, which is a few millimeters higher from the build plate if the original hangs too low for your setup. Print Settings: Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: It Doesn't Matter Notes: The default orientation of the STL file isn't ideal for printing. Rotate the model 90 degrees so that the angled extension on the exhaust end forms a ~40 degree angle with the ground, as shown in the fourth photo. The overhang shouldn't be too difficult for your printer to handle (consider a slower print speed if you have problems). Post-Printing Installation: Unscrew the two vertical screws that mount the cooling block (large black piece shaped like a triangle) to the printer. Then, unscrew the two corner screws on the 40mm fan to remove it from the block. Insert the model through the large circular fan hole, and push it through the exhaust slit until the two small triangular nubs on the bottom of the model snap it into place (see photos). Finally, reattach the 40mm fan and the block to the printer. If you have difficulty fitting the model through the exhaust slit, you may need to slightly sand down the sides of the model. This is due to manufacturing variations in the cooling block.
