The standard camera cap only functions properly when the 11mm spacer ring is in place, necessitating its removal whenever using a filter wheel or slider - a situation that arises frequently in my setup. This ensures dust and dirt do not contaminate the glass window. A deliberate edge facilitates effortless gripping during removal.
