coolant mod for 3018 cnc
thingiverse
Add on coolant for 3018 cnc machines or similar and enclosure for grbl controller. I cut mostly carbon fiber with mine, didn't want carbon dust Way covers can be made out of some plastic sheet, accordion fold every 1/2in "sucky wucky.stl" can be paused mid print to insert magnets if using a metal drain pan, you will need to use a torch to heat up the barbed fitting before inserting it. You will need some type of mostly airtight container for the reservoir. I found a decent one at goodwill. Cut/drill a hole in the top, clamp together using the seal plates(print with 100% infill) and seal with some sort of silicon and cram the line through. its a tight fit, you want a tight fit. lil bit of dish soap will help. Tall container is recommended, bigger the better. You want the return line to touch the bottom, and the feed to be 2/3ds the way up (to keep it from sucking up too much crap and clogging your filter) be sure to leave enough line to be able to place the container on the floor comfortably Stepdown converter is used to run the pump at 5v as full power is WAY too much flow. don't do it. Highly recommend replacing the crap loc line that comes with the coolant mist system, pulsations from the pump cause the crap line to shake, you get some spray where you don't want it. Supports are required for some parts, if you foresee having trouble with the fan guard on the enclosure lid you can split that up into two parts and glue together afterwards.
