I loved the idea of using a CD as the foundation, drawing inspiration from Gyrobot's innovative design, which not only facilitates easy cleaning but also speeds up the printing process. To take it to the next level, I modified the Cool Birdhouse to incorporate a CD or DVD at its base. A huge shoutout goes to Gyrobot and Birdhouse Bauble for sparking the genius idea of repurposing CDs! To make it work seamlessly, you'll need to print the CD component at actual scale (1:1). If that's not feasible, you can either opt for the original Cool Birdhouse design or use the CD model generously provided by Gyrobot. Be aware that there is a critical bridging challenge at the base, so it's essential to have your printer finely tuned. Fortunately, there are numerous bridging and torture test models available online that can help you optimize your settings and achieve flawless prints.
