Cookie Cutter Generator. This tool generates cookie cutters from any 2D solid, including complex shapes with no voids. It's primarily designed for use in OpenSCAD on your own machine, but a customizer is included to demonstrate its capabilities. There are three methods to define cookie outlines: 1. Generation in OpenSCAD: This method allows you to create randomized and user-customized shapes. Every cookie can be unique, making it fun to experiment with different designs. Examples of predefined clouds are included in this file, which you can customize using the generator or create your own random clouds. Most generated clouds will be 3D-printable, but some may not be suitable for printing due to non-manifold geometry or aesthetic issues. 2. From a set of coordinates produced by tracing an image in Inkscape and exporting it to OpenSCAD: This method requires you to have both OpenSCAD and Inkscape installed on your machine, as well as the Cookiecutter_kitset.scad file, which needs to be edited to include your own image definition file. The Tesla roadster is an example of a cookie cutter generated using this technique. 3. From a .PNG file: This method can take a long time (hours) to generate the cookie cutter, especially if the source image is large. Make sure the image is small (less than 100x100 pixels) for optimal results. The rocket is an example of a cookie cutter generated using this technique. You'll need OpenSCAD version 15.03-2 or later to use this tool. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work in the Customizer here due to compatibility issues with the OpenSCAD backend, which may be outdated.
