Graduate student Lisa Piccirillo makes headlines again after proving the Conway Knot is not slice, defying decades of mathematical convention. https://www.quantamagazine.org/graduate-student-solves-decades-old-conway-knot-problem-20200519/ https://arxiv.org/abs/1808.02923 I decide to create a geometric version of the knot using a triangular lattice, opening up new possibilities for its applications. This design can be easily scaled up and used as a trivet if printed with heat-resistant materials like ABS. It prints neatly without support, making it an ideal candidate for rapid prototyping and production.
