Converted Auto Pipetter to 3D Printer
thingiverse
Here's what happened - I scored a fantastic deal on an old, three-axis laboratory instrument that automatically pipetted. The equipment is a Beckman Biomek Workstation 1000, which I transformed into something entirely new and more practical by stripping it of outdated parts and adding my own structural reinforcements. This device was originally equipped with high-precision 1.8-degree stepper motors that could be easily reutilized along with excellent lead screws. Additionally, the same linear bearing system has been maintained for consistent performance. I have uploaded all relevant files (.stls) related to this project so others can make their own version. The work volume of this printer is quite extensive (220mm x 260mm x 200mm), providing plenty of space for creative endeavors.
