I'm transforming the joystick with a ball into a classic American-style joystick, like the ones you'd find in old arcade machines. The ball-type joysticks are often cheaper, and I picked up these from Banggood: https://us.banggood.com/Wholesale-Warehouse-Joystick-Push-Button-Game-Controller-DIY-Kit-for-Arcade-Fighting-Video-Game-PC-wp-Usa-1268267.html?rmmds=myorder. In Spain, the typical arcade machines of the 90's often had American-style joysticks, but recreating mine was a problem because they were more expensive than ball-type ones, so I decided to convert it. This design only requires printing two parts: 2x Interior 2x Exterior To screw it onto the handle, I used an M6 screw with 1.5mm thickness, and two M3 screws with nuts to join both parts together, plus applying epoxy glue to secure the union. The outer cover is printed in flexible filament and stuck with epoxy glue to the inner one. Version v2 is designed for thicker M6 screws (up to 3.5mm).
