This mechanism converts continuous rotary motion to reciprocating rotary motion. First seen as a simulation example in SimLab Composer Mechanical, it was designed in Moment of Inspiration (Moi) and simulated in SimLab Composer Mechanical before being printed in Diamond Age PLA on an Ultimaker original. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker Original Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 20% Notes: Made in (Diamond Age) PLA. For engineering applications, I normally use wall sections of 1.2mm when using a 0.4mm nozzle. By default, I employ a brim to keep larger articles flat. Important note: The parts have not been oriented for printing; some may be correctly positioned by chance but most require careful checking for orientation and positioning before printing. Post-Printing: I clean the edges of screw holes with a tapered reamer and bring shaft holes to size using a hand (parallel) reamer. Note that the handle hole should not be reamed to size as the stem is a light tap fit into the handle. One thing to look out for in assembly is that the connector must be screwed to gear 12 before fixing gear 77 to the connector. I used 3mm x 10mm long button head cap screws throughout, totaling 21 and leaving provision for two more.
