The Convair C-131 Samaritan, a military transport produced from 1954 to 1956 by Convair, was essentially the militarized version of the Convair CV-240. This aircraft was preceded by the T-29 trainer model which used the same platform for teaching USAF navigators to handle all types of USAF planes. The C-131 served with various branches of the US military and other nations' armed forces until the early 80s, after which many were repurposed for private use.
