The Convair CV-580, a popular medium haul medium load commercial aircraft in the '60s and '70s, was used by major and regional airlines until the late '70s and early '80s, when it was replaced by jets like DC-9 and 737s. Built for smaller carriers as replacements for the CV-340 and Martin 404, this aircraft featured Allison Turboprop engines, offering more power, speed, and efficiency than its predecessor. Despite being out of service for most now, some are still in operation worldwide.
