The Convair 340, a popular transport aircraft for medium hauls with medium load capacity in the '50s and '60s, served major airlines until mid-'70s when jets like DC-9 and 737s took over. Initially built for United Airlines alongside KLM, it was an extended CV-240 version with added seats and larger wingspan for enhanced altitude performance. Pressurized, it could accommodate up to 60 passengers in comfort. Post its airline phase, the Convair 340 continued as a charter and cargo aircraft.
