Available in various formats, the Convair 340 was a popular medium haul, medium load transport aircraft for commercial airlines during the 1950s and 60s. Operating until mid-70s when jets like DC-9 and 737s took over, it was initially built for United Airlines and other operators such as KLM - an extended CV-240 version with more seats and longer wingspan for improved high altitude performance.
