The model accurately represents the actual dimensions of the Convair 340, a popular medium haul commercial airliner from the 1950s and 1960s. Fully textured and animateable features include propellers, ailerons, flaps, elevators, landing gear, and landing gear doors. The model comes in various formats. Initially built for United Airlines and other operators like KLM, it was an extended version of the CV-240 with a longer body to accommodate four more seats and a wider wingspan for better high altitude performance. Pressurized, it could carry up to 60 passengers comfortably before being replaced by jets like DC-9 and 737 in the mid-1970s. Post retirement from major airlines, this aircraft was utilized as a charter plane and cargo carrier.
