The scale model features full texturing, with animatable propellers, ailerons, flaps, elevators, landing gear, and doors. Available in multiple formats, the Convair 340 was popular among mid-haul, medium load commercial airlines during the '50s and '60s. Active until the mid '70s when replaced by jets like DC-9 and 737s, it was initially built for United Airlines and KLM as an extended CV-240 version with increased seating capacity and wingspan for better altitude performance. Pressurized, it could comfortably carry up to 60 passengers. Later used as charter and cargo planes, this aircraft had a significant impact on aviation history.
