The nearly life-sized, textured model features animatable components such as propellers, ailerons, flaps, elevators, landing gear, and landing gear doors. Available in multiple formats, the Convair 340 was a popular medium haul, medium load transport aircraft for commercial airlines from the 1950s to 1960s. Operated by major carriers until mid-1970s, when jets like DC-9 and 737s took over, it was initially built for United Airlines and other operators like KLM as an extended CV-240 with additional seating capacity and longer wingspan for improved high altitude performance. The Convair 340's pressurized cabin could accommodate up to 60 passengers in comfort. Subsequently, it was utilized as a charter aircraft and cargo carrier.
