Available in various formats, it replicates the Convair 340, a popular medium-haul, medium-load transport aircraft for commercial airlines from the 1950s to 1960s. Active with major carriers until mid-1970s when replaced by jets like DC-9 and 737s, it was initially built for United Airlines and KLM, an extended version of CV-240 with extra seating capacity and extended wingspan. Pressurized, the Convair 340 accommodated up to 60 passengers in comfort before being repurposed as charter or cargo aircraft.
