The B-36A, used for training purposes, and B-36B feature propellers only; subsequent models like the B-36D to final production incorporated four jet engines in pods of two below the wings, alongside propeller engines. These detailed models boast actual squadron paint schemes and animateable features such as turbines, flaps, ailerons, rudder, elevators, retractable landing gear, and landing gear doors, with propellers also animated. The Convair B-36 "Peacemaker" was a US Air Force strategic bomber (1949-1959), the largest mass-produced piston engine aircraft, boasting the longest wingspan of any combat plane. Used for long-range missions to Soviet targets, these noisy aircraft had a 13-crew member team and were known for breaking windows when flying low over buildings. The Strategic Air Command extensively used this aircraft, further popularized by its appearance in "Strategic Air Command" starring Jimmy Stewart. A project, YB-60/36G, explored a jet-powered, swept wing variant.
