The B-36 "Peacemaker," operated solely by the USAF from 1949 to 1959, is a massive piston engine aircraft, holding the title of the largest ever mass-produced. It features the longest wingspan of any combat plane and was designed for long-range missions to Soviet targets. The B-36D onwards included four jet engines alongside propellers, with numerous animateable parts like turbines, flaps, and landing gear doors. Animated propellers add realistic detail, while paint schemes replicate actual squadron designs. Notably, the 36G/YB-60 project proposed a jet-powered swept wing variant. This iconic aircraft was famously featured in Jimmy Stewart's "Strategic Air Command" and played a vital role under Strategic Air Command. Despite its power, it also drew attention for noise issues that broke windows and cracked plaster during low flights.
