Again being struck by the stupidity of f*** chineese crap makers. No thermal compound could be found on the stepper drivers chips, tiny heat sink and very small fan. Overheating when running mill jobs with much motion on the z-axis. Led to loosing steps, sagged the z-axis, ruined the stock material. Solution, -check your board -put on thermal compound, -increase the cooling capacity (larger heat sink) -put on a more capable cooling fan. When you have finished mounting the fan SECURE the nuts. Put on small drops of something like Loctide or just the nail paint stolen from the girls. The provided mount plate, temporarily used untill the board has being moved into a case separated from the cnc. Two flavours: -printable -for milling on the cnc. Files: printable mount plate variations. pure plate, plate w. captivate nuts or so, plate with nutsholders and 20mm standoffs. gerber files for milling Needed parts. -4x screws 25mm and 4x nuts M3 (with attached fan guard of 4mm thickness) preferable selflocking nuts -4x screws 28-30mm and 4x inserts M3 (instead of using hex nuts or screwing into the plastic base plate) -fan with 50x50mm hole spacing (usually outer size 60x60mm). Have put the 4 brass inserts M3 into the base plate from the underside. Simple build See the pictures.
