Controller Box for RAMPS
thingiverse
This part fits perfectly on the Flex Mendel printer, housing the controller board, known as RAMPS. Securing it required trial and error to line up holes with those on the board, a feat that should now be accomplished easily. An extra support bracket without a hole offers assistance when attaching the board to the main housing. Printed at 100% infill for maximum strength, these parts serve as the foundation for a sturdy controller setup. I designed this top plate specifically for Illinois State University's 3D printers and it's ready for use. Created using NX 9.0, I made part files available for easy remixing purposes. I've attached them below so you can start creating your own versions. Update (April 24, 2015): After some refinements, the controller box now better accommodates RAMPS. By moving the side wall slightly outwards, we achieved a snugger fit and ensured smooth attachment of all components. As before, I've made updated part files available along with an alternative view.
