Controlled Heading Automation Device (CHAD)
thingiverse
Chad allows for a stepper motor, arduinos and any chosen device to be precisely directed. High altitude balloon flights rely heavily on electronics support platforms like Chad. Main housing compartment houses arduinos and turntables while securing instrument support (such as a GoPro camera) and motors. Motor seat keeps stepper motors securely in place within the main housing compartment. Connective arm serves as the connection point between the main housing and any supported device. The GoPro mount enables attaching various devices to Chad. I developed Chad using TinkerCAD and AutoCAD software on well-known websites. To create a physical version, I used a MakerBot replicator 3D printer for production.
