Control Box
thingiverse
This housing accommodates various controls and information for my 3D printer. The top display features the Reprap Discount full graphic display (lcd12864), with the ramps kit mounted on the midplate. A mount for a Raspberry Pi 3B on the back upper wall serves as an octoprint platform. Below, there's mounting space for an ATX PSU, configured to turn on and off via a toggle on the front panel. Three holes accommodate volt/amp meter displays, connected to the two 12v rails and the 5v rails. I'll power Octopi using the always-on 5v circuit (purple ATX wire). Run the negative side of the 12v rails through a shunt for the amp meter, and the positive side through a 20amp fuse each. A terminal block provides a connection point for electronics. The midplate accommodates the ramps package and a mosfet for the heatbed. I plan to add an exterior panel on the right side with connectors for steppers, thermistors, and heated parts, allowing disconnection from the printer if needed. Print Settings Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100% Notes: I'm printing in PLA, but other materials should work. This is an early project version, so issues may arise. I used various bits to integrate the Pi and Ramps, and lost track of whose parts were used. If you note where credit is due, post a comment and I'll ensure proper credit is given.
