Contour Gauge
thingiverse
I bought a contour gauge from Amazon, but seemed to have misplaced it. So I designed a somewhat lower resolution (2mm wide pins) for a project I'm working on, and thought I'd share the contour gauge here. The gauge covers 192mm, with 2mm wide pins. You need to print two copies of the case, and 96 pins. The pins are 4mm tall, and go in "standing." In order to make it more rigid, and hopefully have the pins less loose in the center, I have an outer case you glue in over the whole thing, taking advantage of lamination to make it less bendy. I realized the pins can easily fall out, so I designed a second version of the pins with notches so they don't fall out. To use it, push all the pins against a curve, then measure how fare they stick out with a ruler.
