Contigo bottle replacement fitting
prusaprinters
Contigo bottles are great but the fitting between the cap and the bottle can break if you drop them too often. Unfortunately this replacement part can't be found. So I designed a new part and while I was at it, made an unbreakable version to be printed in TPU that includes the “o-ring”. The photos of the white fitting is of the last and working prototype. The left one is a not-yet-broken original part and the right one is 3d printed. I used food grade PLA at 0.2 layer height with no support, 10% infill, 4 perimeters. I have a prototype printed sideways for better strenght, life will tell me if the strength compensate for the aesthetics and print time. You can use the original o-ring or use a generic 39mm ID / 42mm OD (see photo). The unbreakable version was printed with food grade TPU at 0.1mm layer height, 10 perimeters (maxed for a 100% infill), 150% print width and at maximum recommended temperature for my filament for maximum layer adhesion.Photos of the unbreakable version coming soon, wife left with the 0.2 and 0.1 layer height prototypes. The vertically printed parts are less confortable for the lips. The 0.1 TPU version is better. *You should choose your filament to be food safe and use a food safe nozzle.
