SeismoCloud is a community network for earthquake detection and sending Early Warning messages, which are notifications that precede the arrival of an earthquake by several seconds. The network operates thanks to low-cost seismometers both fixed and mobile, built as dedicated devices or based on apps for smartphones using the sensors present in cell phones. Every person can contribute to earthquake detection by installing the app or mounting and installing a fixed seismometer at home. SeismoCloud is a joint project of researchers from La Sapienza University (Department of Computer Science) and the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (Seismic and Tectonic Physics Section). More information: http://www.seismocloud.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MY CONTRIBUTION: I have designed a first version of the electronic container for a fixed seismometer. I made it for my seismometer, but it might interest someone else, so I'm sharing the project. The container holds the ESP8266 (ESP12E) module, the MPU6050 sensor module, and three status LEDs (0.5mm). Electronic modules sold may have slightly different measurements; I designed the container to accommodate even larger modules. You must attach them inside with a bit of hot glue.
