I decided to tackle the problem of my missing garage gutter end cap by taking action. Unfortunately, local stores had no stock of this simple $5 item in hand and ordering it online would have cost over $20. Rather than watching Netflix one night, I chose to design a solution myself. It took an hour to measure the reference end cap and create the design in Fusion 360. The results were well worth the effort, as it fits perfectly. My reference piece features a black insert that is just as hard as the plastic itself. However, I didn't include this part in my original design, yet it still fits remarkably snugly. To ensure it stays securely in place, be sure to apply some gutter sealant liberally. If you print this design using PLA, it's recommended to apply a few coats of spray paint to protect the plastic from UV rays, as it will otherwise degrade in the sun.
