Contemporary Egg Cup
thingiverse
I tried printing the model using two different settings to see how they would turn out. If your printer is properly calibrated like mine, there are a few ways you can print this design. On my first attempt, I printed at 60mm/s without any supports, as shown in the comparison picture on the left. Unfortunately, the result was disappointing, with lots of blobs and zits caused by poor cooling. However, if your printer's cooling system is adequate, your results may be significantly better without supports. Since my printer doesn't have great cooling at present, I had to print slower the second time, using a speed of 30mm/s and plenty of supports with interfaces. This was a bit tricky to do, but it was worth the extra effort. My second attempt is illustrated on the right, with an almost perfect surface. Note: I printed the models naturally, upside down, as you can see in the pictures. The cups were flipped over for better demonstration of the printing quality.
