Container Ship
thingiverse
This is my entry for the MakeItFloat contest, a big project that I poured all my energy into. Being my first major undertaking, there might be some printing mistakes or areas where things could be done better. I based my boat on the Maersk container ships and created working containers in a 2x3 stack (they would be too large on their own) that you can open and put coins and other items in. The deck is magnetically attached to the hull and is easily removable. There's room inside the hull for storage or any other modifications you'd like to make, such as turning it into a Rc version with some adjustments or converting it into a "pop pop" boat like those other contest entries. I'm not sure about all that, but the point is I worked extremely hard on this project. You could even print a mini version of the entire boat if you don't want to assemble anything from scratch. The full boat is attached for anyone who wants to try printing it in one shot. Right now, it's just a cool design that I came up with as a platform for people to turn into something truly amazing. It can hold a significant amount of weight, and if you're wondering why I used bolts instead of coins, it's because I didn't have any coins available. Size: 108.6W x 380.92L x 145.01H mm If you want to modify anything on here, just search for "MakeItFloat container ship" or "2x3 shipping crates" on Tinkercad - it's the only design program I know how to use and it's pretty easy even if you're not familiar with it. Here are the links: https://www.tinkercad.com/search/?q=makeitfloat+container+ship https://www.tinkercad.com/search/?q=2x3+shipping+crates I put an enormous amount of effort into this project. If you have any questions, just ask - I'll be here waiting for people to hopefully like my work. Thanks for taking the time to look at my entry!
