A cost-effective and dependable system for auto-connecting and disconnecting containers is proposed, requiring minimal adjustments to both the container and spreader. The connection mechanism works by unlocking the container above when the spreader connects, while preventing lower containers from unlocking. A bike's brake cable transfers the actuator arm force to the fork, with a torsion spring providing constant strain for seamless operation. Upon connecting, the arm pulls the cable and overcomes the spring force, returning the Twist Lock to an unlocked state for separation. During disconnection, the activation arm releases and the spring returns to its locked position when linking two containers. The optional weaker torsion spring maintains the Twist lock in an unlocked state until it's overcome by stronger spring forces. The Twist lock plate is welded to the container top, with test cases screwed on for adjustability. Spreader design includes modifications for connecting the Twist Lock, while a handle and cable system can be installed inside the container, extending its life with proper sealing and minor design tweaks.
