Contact Microphone Case
thingiverse
It's ridiculously simple to electrify your instruments with a contact microphone. I'm talking about instruments in all their varied forms. All you need is a piezo element, some wires to solder onto it, and an amplifier to connect them to. My design features a 20 mm piezo element that screws directly into place. You can also secure it using zip ties, Velcro, or plain tape if needed. When attaching the microphone to its case, I rely on hot-glue for a solid hold. It's essential to minimize bubbles in the glue, as they can distort the sound output. The small tabs at the top might be tricky to print, but their purpose is clear: they help velcro straps or tape adhere better to the surface.
