Contact Holder for Electrolysis

Contact Holder for Electrolysis

prusaprinters

This is a simple holder for contacts for electrolysis. You cut the side out of a soda can, sand off the paint, then put the can sides into the holder. then attach the top to the top of a bottle/container and put wires through connecting to the can walls. put NaOH into the water to make it more conductive, then pass as much current as you can through the water. you will see bubbles. these are hydrogen and oxygen. if you collect them together, BE CAREFUL!!! they are highly explosive and in the exact stoichiometric ratio needed for burning. The point of this is to hold the contacts very close together so that you do not need as much voltage to have a lot of current pass through the water. Enjoy! Print instructionsNotes: Use supports but SELECT THE ONLY FROM BUILD PLATE option. this will prevent supports from clogging the holes inside of the model.
