Construx 6 Post Knot

thingiverse

This is a modern twist on the classic knot from Construx sets of the 1970s and 80s. It's the main connector that holds the long pieces together, and though it can withstand up to 35 years without issues, it's still prone to breaking at times. With our innovative solution, you can now print your very own! Simply click the print button and slide the smaller piece into the larger one with some gentle force, ensuring a snug fit that won't come loose easily. It operates on the same reliable mechanism as the original Construx design, allowing for effortless interchanging of parts. For instance, by examining the image provided, you can seamlessly combine them with authentic parts from Construx. I experienced my own challenges while printing it out, but once I dialed in my Cura settings, things started falling into place. Slic3r added too much extra material if I let it automatically detect everything, but after experimenting, I settled on the following Slic3r settings: >Generate Support Material: On >Overhand Threshold: 0 >Enforce Support for first 0 Layers > Raft: 0 Layers > Contact Z distance: 0mm (it may seem unusual, but it works!) Pattern: Rectilinear Interface Pattern spacing: 2mm Interface angle: 0 degrees> Don't support bridges Unchecked
