Constant Velocity Drive Shaft (CVD, Rzeppa, Birfield) for RC Car
cults3d
Do you have an RC car that needs a driveshaft? Do you have an application that needs a driveshaft and need to transfer power through odd angles? Have you previously used "dog-bones" as a driveshaft but don't like how they bind up? Then I have the perfect solution for you! I've modelled a constant velocity driveshaft that can transfer power up-to 32 degrees. The best part? It's smooth! It's constant velocity! It's durable! Unlike universal joints that require matching of certain angles to maintain constant speed, the constant - velocity joint maintains CONSTANT speed regardless of the input and output angles. The driveshaft has been modelled to fit scale RC crawlers currently available on the market. The drive cups will fit (with an included adapter) standard and aftermarket crawler axles. The driveshaft also has a built in "slip joint" that allows to the driveshaft to change length as the vehicle suspension articulates. To make one complete driveshaft, you will be required to print the following: 2 CVD cages (CVD Cage V6) 2 CVD Cup 1 CVD Ball End (Female) 1 CVD Ball End (Male) 2 Retainers (V3 allows an operating angle of 32 degrees, V4 allows an angle up 24 degrees) BB's (4.5mm / 0.177 caliber) - these need to be purchased separately See it in action here: https://youtube.com/shorts/6_7uN9OfJN0?feature=share See how to assemble it here: https://youtu.be/nbB6OgkzsN8
