Console Tray for 2011-13 Ford Edge
thingiverse
My wife has been complaining about her 2011 Ford Edge's original console tray, and it's time for a change. The current tray is frustratingly difficult to insert and won't stay in place. To make matters worse, it's too small and fails to effectively contain coins. This new replacement console tray was designed with those issues in mind. To bring this design to life, I relied on my MakerBot Replicator 2, which took around eight hours to print. Supports were added to ensure the top rail printed properly. Although the bottom corners tend to lift slightly, it doesn't seem to affect its use or appearance. One minor issue with the tray is that it has a tendency to slide forward in the console. To prevent this, I attached Velcro tape to the inside of the console just in front of the tray. If you don't have Velcro tape, any other type of tape will work, but you might need multiple layers for the desired thickness. Designing This Console Tray I used OpenSCAD to create this design by defining most surfaces with polyhedrons.
