Connector Pieces for Esso Competition, Can Repurposing

This model, designed specifically for the Esso design competition, creatively repurposes a 250mL Red Bull can in multiple innovative ways. The hexagonal connectors can be used to form an endless variety of assemblies limited only by your imagination and the number of cans available. The renderings showcase a "germination pod" that could potentially sit indoors and efficiently germinate seedlings from cans, on cans! To create this setup, simply cut the top off a can and fill it with soil to make a seedling bed. You may also need to poke a small hole in the bottom of the can to prevent excessive water buildup. The second render displays a configuration that acts as a stool, utilizing the vertical strength of the cans. I plan to release hexagonal plates soon that will fit over the top for a smooth seat, but for now, this is just a starting point! Other potential variations that may spark your interest include a 6-pack holder, coffee table, and laptop stand. Due to the hexagonal pattern, the configuration can be expanded infinitely and raised to any desired height.
