A family member accidentally shattered their expensive Kartell Bourgie design lamp, specifically breaking a removable plastic connector piece at its base. Attempts to glue the part back together were unsuccessful due to tension; it would simply break again upon reassembly. The individual then created a 3D model of the broken piece and plans to print it using a fablab's UP! Mini printer. After printing, they discovered that slight adjustments were needed for an exact fit; sanding resolved this issue, resulting in a restored lamp. They went on to edit the 3D model, creating Version 2 with improved fitment directly from print. To fix your own Bourgie lamp, simply print and reassemble using the new connector piece.
