Connector For Rotary Encoder using JST-XH crimp pins

thingiverse

This is a custom-made housing for a standard Rotary Encoder with built-in pushbutton switch that fits perfectly on any electronics workbench.\r\nYou can find these high-quality connectors at most reputable electronics supply houses.\r\n\r\nNote: To complete this project, you will need precision JST-XH (2.5mm) crimp pins, durable wire (I used 28 AWG stranded)\r\nand a reliable crimper.\r\n\r\nMy FreeCAD design file is included for your convenience.\r\n\r\nTo achieve the best results, I used PLA Pro at 215C/55C, 0.2mm layer height, (or 0.1mm) 1.2mm walls, 0.8mm top/bottom, 40% infill with a 0.4mm nozzle.\r\n\r\nThe housing features 3 carefully designed pins for the encoder and 2 precisely placed pins for the pushbutton switch.\r\n\r\nThe 2 mounting tabs on the encoder fit snugly into holes in the connector, ensuring a secure connection. If they don't fit tightly enough, you can easily bend the tabs after pushing them through the holes.\r\n\r\nThis design was created using FreeCAD 0.17, sliced with Cura 3.5.1 and printed on a Prusa clone using OctoPrint for precise control.
