Skip everything and start: main links you need: https://github.com/luc-github/ESP3D https://github.com/luc-github/ESP3D-WEBUI (get v2.1 or higher) PDF guide in this thing with some specifics for ESP12e wifi board Slow version: I really wanted to connect my i3 mega using wifi so I could control the main functions via a browser. When I stumbled on the ESP3D project from Luc using an ESP8266 I immediately started working on it. I had some ESP8266/ESP12e lying around, so that part was easy. But it took a while as there was no real information on how to connect the i3 mega/Trigorilla. Almost defeated due to lacking UART information, I found another project from Murdock (MKS TFT project) where he identified the UART0 pins. Assembling all the information I was able to get it all up and running smoothly. Sharing is caring, so I consolidated the main information in a short document so you can also create this fantastic, cheap and easy connection. If you only want the wifi connection this project will cost you about 5 euro. The fancy version with OLED and DHT sensor will set you back a whole 10euro if you source it on Aliexpress. But please use with caution. Do not attempt to modify your printer if you are unsure of your soldering skills. Let me know if anything is described incorrectly so I can amend the text. The ESP3D software created by Luc will allow you to control most aspects of your printer using a webbrowser. X/Y/Z, temperature, you can create macros, load SD lists, upload files, change Marlin settings, and more. IMPORTANT: if you need to upgrade your i3 mega firmware using USB cable -> turn the ESP off. As they both use the same UART you don't want any interference. Feedback welcome!
