Fossilized branches of a rare plant species, Ernestiodendron germanica, uncovered in the ancient Permian deposits of Germany. This remarkable find belongs to the long-lost Paleozoic conifer family Voltziales, within the extinct order Utrechtiaceae. The specimen is proudly housed in the renowned Cornell University Paleobotanical Collection (CUPC) in Ithaca, New York, where it measures a significant 13.5 centimeters in length. This incredible artifact was carefully modeled by talented artist Emily Hauf.
