Conical Spool Adapter
thingiverse
I wanted to upgrade my filament support system and thought attaching spool adapters from Thingiverse would be a great way to do it. Unfortunately, other designs I found didn't work well for me, mainly because they couldn't handle the wide range of spool sizes I use (from small 250g spools to 1kg spools from different sellers in Brazil).\r\n\r\nThis design consists of two identical conical adapters that are used to center the spool on a 5/8" threaded rod and a standard bearing (608 series) on each side, holding everything together with compatible nuts on both sides, providing smooth filament feeding to the extruder.\r\n\r\nIt should fit filament spools with central holes between 30mm and 75mm.\r\n\r\nI included the original files (SolidWorks) in case anyone wants to modify them a bit.\r\n\r\nFor printing, I used a 0.6mm nozzle with 0.3mm resolution, 2 vertical shells, and 20-30% infill.
