Conical Gear: Bevel gears are often used when a change is needed in the rotation and direction of an axle. Bevel gears have teeth that can be straight, spiral or helical. When it comes to straight teeth, the impact between them occurs all at once with every contact change, making curved teeth more commonly chosen because they soften the impact as contact is made gradually, starting from one end and spreading along the entire tooth surface. The spur bevel gear is suitable for smaller, low-speed equipment and offers an economical option. On the other hand, the spiral bevel gear has its teeth set at a specific angle, allowing for even pressure distribution and promoting smoother interactions between parts, making it ideal for a wider range of applications. In contrast, the helical bevel gear has its teeth arranged transversely to the axis, suitable for use in high-speed systems. This type of gear also offers the advantage of functioning with transmissions on parallel axes as well as axles that form an angle with each other.
