Cutting for Hyperbola: A vertical section is made to produce the hyperbola curve. Cutting for Parabola: A parallel section is cut to get the parabola curve. Cutting for Ellipse: An arbitrary angle that's neither vertical, horizontal, nor parallel to the cone edge produces the ellipse curve.
