Configurable filament spool
prusaprinters
The spool probably fits all types of refill filaments. The spool consists of two halves/plates and 4 pins. The whole thing connects and holds thanks to the threads placed on the models.Characteristics:The spool allows you to use bundles of filament with an internal coil diameter of 80 to 195mm and a width of 10 to 70mm.It has eyelets placed around the perimeter for easy attachment of the filament end.The inside diameter of the spool bore is 50mm.The spool has 4 grooves leading from the edge to the center, allowing you to fasten the filament with cable ties again.Short instructions for use (filament installation):Put the secured filament on part A.Screw part B from above so that the spool sits tight between them.Align both parts so that the pin holes match up.Screw in the pins as far from the center as possible, but so that they are symmetrical and so that each of the four is in the corresponding hole. The pins should immobilize/support the filament from the inside.Cut the cable ties open and remove them.Printing:As for the material - it is good to choose something that does not curl up and does not deform during printing. The spool components have a very large surface area so maintaining shape and dimension is crucial. Hilbert curve can be used for the first layer to reduce the cramp.Filling: 15-20%Layer height: preferably 0.2mm.Nozzle: any; 0.4 and 0.6 are fine.In order to save material, you can try to drop the top solid infill ... but then the spool will collect more dust (if that's the case).
